 Plans are in the making for the expansion of the Tamarind Farm Adult Correctional Centre in St. Catherine.According to newly appointed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, Major Richard Reese, additional facilities are to be established at the prison. Speaking in an interview with RJR News Tuesday Major Reese also noted that plans for the construction of a new maximum security prison are still on the drawing board. The new prison is expected to ease overcrowding at some penal facilities. |
